UN Human Rights Council Side Event:

Emerging challenges to the right to freedom of religion or belief

Join us for our online side event at the 47th session of the UN Human Rights Council

Date: Wednesday 23 June 2021

Time: 2-3pm BST

Venue: Online

As an advocacy organisation with UN accreditation, CSW is privileged to be able to host side events at the UN Human Rights Council.

And this year, we’re delighted to be able to invite supporters to join us too.

Our panel of experts will highlight a number of emerging challenges to the right to freedom of religion or belief (FoRB). They’ll also consider how states and civil society can approach these challenges in a way that puts human rights at the centre.

We’ll hear from current and former experts on FoRB, and participants will also have the chance to put their questions to the panel.

Confirmed panellists:

  • Fiona Bruce MP, UK Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief
  • Sam Brownback, Former US Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom
  • Dr Ahmed Shaheed, UN Special Rapporteur on the right to Freedom of Religion or Belief

Fill in the form below and we’ll send you all the details you need to join.
