“My children and I always pray for Leah, because I know exactly what it looks like to be in her place.”
-Meriam Ibrahim, who was imprisoned for apostasy in Sudan in 2014
Join us in a virtual vigil for Leah Sharibu on Saturday 26 October
Leah Sharibu was one of 110 girls abducted from their school in Dapchi, Nigeria by the Boko Haram offshoot, Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in February 2018. The next month, following negotiations by the government, the surviving girls were put into vehicles to go home. However, Leah wasn’t among them. She wasn’t released because she refused to convert in exchange for her freedom.
On Saturday 26 October, CSW is joining with people all over the world in a prayer vigil for Leah’s safe return. Download a prayer sheet and pray through Psalm 91 with us, petitioning God to protect Leah and all those in Nigeria being held hostage, whether by terrorists or kidnappers.
Pray with us any time from 5.30-7pm on Saturday 26 October.
Pray:
- That Leah, Alice and all other hostages would find shelter under the shadow of God’s wings
- For God to protect them from the terrors of their surroundings
- That the Lord will be a refuge and a comfort to every family like Leah’s, awaiting the return of their loved ones from kidnapping
- For God to be powerfully at work in efforts to bring all those who have been kidnapped in Nigeria home.
